Green Aventurine Gemstone Kitten: May.

  • Description

    Green Aventurine Gemstone Kitten: May.

Aventurine is known as the stone of opportunity, coming from the Italian "a ventura" meaning "by chance". Green Aventurine is a translucent form of quartz. Mineral inclusions give it a variety of colours. Fuchsite is often responsible for the blue variety.

Named from the Italian "a ventura" or "by chance". This is likely to be due to the accidental discovery of aventurine glass or goldstone in the 18th Century in Venice. The man-made glass resembled the natural material and the name duly transferred to the mineral.

Most blue and green aventurine comes from India, particularly in the areas of Mysore and Chennai where there are many skilled workers of this pretty stone.

Accompanied by a card detailing the birthstone month, stone name and extra facts. Cat and card are supplied in a "Lucky Gemstone Cat" velveteen drawstring pouch.

    Size: 3cm tall
