It's Free, so What's the Catch?
There isn't one! Having run The Cat Gallery for 25 years and the York Cat Hunt for 15 years, Peter decided that now would be a good time to give back via a personally guided tour.
That said, The Cat Gallery is a purr-fect shop to pick up a feline themed souvenir of your York trip.
Is Booking Required?
Booking is essential. Conversely, if you book and can't then make it, please do cancel your slot so that someone else can have it.
Why Can't I Book More than a Week Ahead?
This is simply to minimise no-shows.
How long is the walk?
The route is 1.6km (1 mile). It will take around 45 minutes, but please allow a few minutes either way as timings will be influenced by group size and the volume of pedestrian traffic in York.
Is it Accessible?
This tour is step-free. Please note that small sections of the route contain cobbles.
Is it Suitable for Children?
Absolutely! This tour is highly recommended for children who will love trying to be the first to spot each cat! There will be a mention of ghosts (there is a ghost cat!) , but this tour does not aim to scare. Children will receive a free "York Cat Spotter" glow in the dark wristband at the end of the tour.
