Vintage Plates - The Affordable Way to Fill Your Walls With Top Quality Cat Themed Art

Collectable Limited Edition plates were a huge business in the 1980's and 90's. Every porcelain factory wanted a slice of this fabulous business model. Commission an established artist to paint a series of pictures, pop them onto your core product (a plate) and sell them as a decorative use collectable limited edition. Companies like The Franklin Mint, Bradex and Others were expert at the whole process from design selection to marketing and fulfilment (often with the added inducement of receive now, pay via instalments).

The internet blew the collectables market wide open, exposing the true after-market value of certain collectables marketed as "investment grade". Whilst the prices charged by some of these companies may have been disproportionate, it is undeniable that the quality of the work produced was high. From a cat lover's perspective, who couldn't admire the artistry in the work of Laurel Burch, Rosina Wachtmeister, Linda Jane Smith, Zoe Stokes and others?

Having dabbled with Vintage wares pre-pandemic, The Cat Gallery is now actively looking to ensure that new generations of collectors can access top quality feline-themed wares from the early 21st Century and prior.
