Since August 2010 The Cat Gallery has traded from just the ground floor of 45 Low Petergate, a 5 storey Georgian townhouse. Over the last 8 weeks we have been busy re-modelling how we use our space. The basement has been spruced up and now serves as our stockroom. Our staff room and kitchen have moved to the second floor where our offices are. This has freed up the whole of the first floor which has undergone a major programme of works involving re-wiring, installation of heating, full repair and renewal of our lovely vintage floorboards and several fresh coats of paint. We've sourced a variety of pre-owned fixtures and fittings, as well as a few brand new pieces that will allow us for the first time to display a carefully curated mix of clothing, art, vintage collectables and more!

At the time of writing we think we're a couple of weeks away from being ready to open up our beautiful staircase to allow customers up to our new first floor gallery. We thought you'd like to see a couple of "before" and "after" pictures so you can see what we've been up to.

This is our first floor front room in use as a stock room and then after it had been cleared.

This composite picture shows all first floor rooms after the floors were sanded and varnished. Since these pictures were taken we've reinstated the painted sides to the stairs and have started to put some fixtures into the rooms. No stock out yet as there is still dust everywhere!
