Brighton Marathon April 6th 2025 - Running for Cats Protection

It's a long time since I ran anything like a marathon, but at the age of 58 I have decided to put my body on the line for cats once again by running the Brighton Marathon.

The Brighton Marathon is on 6th April, and I have been secretly doing a bit of training on dark, cold and wet winter evenings to get myself ready for this test of endurance. Alfie and Charlie have been somewhat bemused by my training at odd hours and certainly don't understand that I might want a glass of water before feeding them!

As you can see from my snazzy running vest, I'm running as part of the Cats Protection team, raising money for the local Lewes, Seaford and District branch. This Branch covers the area where Alison was born and grew up, so it has a special significance for us.

All of the above is a prelude to a polite request for you to consider sponsoring my efforts. Every penny raised will go to help the work of Cats Protection. If you donate via my special JustGiving page then you also get the option to Gift Aid the donation, which means the government will chip in with an extra 25% or more.

Just as valuable as sponsorship is spreading the word. There are social links on my JustGiving page which I'd love you to use to share my fundraising page with friends, family and work colleagues.

At the time of writing this post (Saturday 15th March) I have one sponsor - Me!

Updates on progress will appear on this page and in the Newsletter / Social Media.

Thank you for reading
