Whilst the garden looked as lovely as the picture, it rained from early afternoon on the day of the party so cocktails were served indoors. Shelley from International Cat Care was a maestro at mixing and preparing cocktails for the guests. We had an almost 100% turnout, despite the inclement weather.
We served "Kitty Royale", "Ginger Tom" and "Tom Cat Collins" cocktails whilst our enthusiastic guests snapped up raffle tickets where there were some great prizes on offer.
Canapes were also served and proved very popular - particularly the cat themed ones. By the time our photographer reached the canape area, this was what they found!
The rest of the evening consisted of a jumbo cat themed quiz interspersed with the raffle draw and auction. Here's our "Quizmaster", putting guests through their paces in the quiz. Yes, that's an image of Charlie on the screen - part of a little revolving slideshow of our cats, who for obvious reasons couldn't be there in person.
Star auction item was the opportunity to have an escorted Cat Trail tour followed by Afternoon Tea with Alfie & Charlie (and Peter & Alison).
Alfie and Charlie are very much looking forward to welcoming Berta and Marius, winners of this auction item, for afternoon tea.
In total, we raised nearly £500 on the evening and an additional £360 from kindhearted customers who couldn't make the event in person but wanted to make a donation in lieu.
So we raised a good sum for International Cat Care and we had fun doing it. My definition of the purr-fect charity event!
In two weeks time I'll be running the Yorkshire Marathon - another opportunity to donate to our Charities of the Year.
